MATERIALS
The environmental impact of a product is mainly determined by the materials it is made of.
To reduce our ecological footprint to a minimum, we always aim to maximize the share of recycled and organic raw materials in our products. This does not only lower the consumption of natural resources such as crude oil or farm land but also lowers the consumption of water and energy during the production process.
But there is even more to it: By creating a demand for recycled raw materials, we help to turn waste materials into a valuable commodity. Production scraps and domestic waste will be collected and sorted, rather than ending up on landfills or even in the worlds ecosystems.
And if you are as serious about the performance of our products as we are, there is good news too: Our recycled yarns are almost indistinguishable from their virgin counterparts so considering the environment does not mean we have forgotten about you!
SEAQUAL® YARN:
A high quality polyester yarn made from Upcycled Marine Plastic and post-consumer plastic from land sources.
SEAQUAL INITIATIVE is a unique collaborative community that works with ocean clean-up programs around the world to transform the marine litter they recover into Upcycled Marine Plastic; a new, fullytraceable raw material with the power to raise awareness of the issue of marine pollution and highlight those helping to fight it.
Q-Nova Polyamide Yarn:
An environmentally-sustainable nylon 6.6 fibre, obtained form regenerated raw materials by using a proprietary mechanical regeneration process.
Produced in Italy, Q-Nova is the polyamide fibre with the lowest certified environmental impact.
A significant cut in emissions and water consumption is rewarded by numerous certifications such as Global Recycled Standart, EU Ecolabel and OEKO-TEX 100.
